Brittany Metzger, LCSW

Brittany Metzger, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, providing psychotherapy to young adults and professionals navigating grief, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and women’s health–related experiences. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, where I received comprehensive clinical training grounded in psychodynamic and relational approaches. My work is informed by a psychoanalytic framework, with a focus on understanding how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious processes shape present-day emotional patterns. In my clinical practice, I integrate this depth-oriented approach with a strong emphasis on attunement, collaboration, and individualized care. I have pursued additional training and ongoing clinical development in the areas of grief and loss, as well as women’s health, including the emotional impact of hormonal changes, reproductive experiences, and identity transitions. My experience working with grief extends beyond the therapy room. I have volunteered with Experience Camps for Grieving Kids, supporting children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. I have also participated in their adult grief retreat programming, deepening my understanding of how loss is processed across the lifespan and within community. I approach this work with respect for the complexity of each person’s experience. My goal is to offer a thoughtful, steady, and nonjudgmental space where deeper understanding and meaningful change can unfold over time.
