You’ve been carrying a lot. Maybe anxiety keeps you stuck in your head, depression has made it hard to feel like yourself, or trauma/PTSD has left you feeling disconnected from the life you want to be living. Whatever brought you here, you’ve already shown courage just by looking for help. That’s where Brittany comes in. Her work isn’t about having the right answers — it’s about helping you slow down enough to hear your own. Brittany is a Licensed Professional Counselor offering therapy in the Frankfort and Shorewood areas. She specializes in anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD, and also works with clients navigating grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. She holds a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University and has extensive specialized training in trauma recovery, including work with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Her approach is built around you. Brittany blends evidence-based tools — CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic approaches — with creative, relational work tailored to your identity, pace, and readiness. She’s also trained in Trauma-Focused CBT and uses the DIR/Floortime model with clients on the autism spectrum. One of her most powerful tools is storytelling: using character development to help clients explore trauma and identity in a way that feels accessible rather than overwhelming. Working with Brittany feels less like a clinical session and more like a real conversation — built on warmth and trust, where you’re never rushed or reduced to a diagnosis. She especially connects with clients navigating trauma or neurodivergence, and with anyone who’s felt unseen by traditional talk therapy. If you're looking for an anxiety therapist, depression counseling, or trauma-informed care in the Chicago area, Brittany can help you slow down and start moving toward the life you actually want. Outside the therapy room, she's an avid cook and devoted animal lover.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm not here to hand you the "right" answers — my work is about helping you slow down enough to hear your own. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD, along with grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I've also done extensive specialized training in trauma recovery, including work with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Sessions with me tend to feel less like a clinical appointment and more like a real, honest conversation. You won't be rushed, and you won't be reduced to a diagnosis. I especially connect with clients working through trauma or neurodivergence, and with folks who've tried traditional talk therapy before and came away feeling unseen or misunderstood.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I build my approach around you, not the other way around — your identity, your pace, and how ready you are to go there on any given day. I draw from CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic approaches, and I'm trained in Trauma-Focused CBT as well as the DIR/Floortime model for clients on the autism spectrum. One of the tools I lean on most is storytelling. I'll often use character development as a way into exploring trauma and identity — it gives clients a way to approach heavy material that feels manageable rather than overwhelming. Wherever we start, the goal is the same: helping you move at a pace that actually works for you, toward a life that feels like your own again.
