Brittany Vickers, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Brittany! My name is Brittany, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in the Bay Area, supporting clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley. I love working with adolescents and adults, specializing in anxiety, perfectionism, depression, and self-esteem issues through a reflective and humanistic trauma-informed approach. My work is grounded in Anti-Racist and Feminist Scholarship, Polyvagal Theory, Relational Neurobiology, Mindfulness, and Attachment Theories. My approach My approach varies according to each client's needs and goals. The most important factor of change with all clients and interventions is the felt sense of safety and attunement. As such, I draw most from Relational Neurobiology and Attachment Theory. If a client feels safe and seen, then we can explore and uncover the limiting beliefs, points of pain, and memories stalled in the body that keep a person from being their best self. I apply strategies of memory reconsolidation from EMDR, Somatic Practice, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (Parts work), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to move forward and become your best self. The therapeutic process will always be safe, but not necessarily comfortable. My focus I am passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, women-identified, and BIPOC folks. I support those in life transitions or those ready to make a change. I want my clients to understand that their struggles are not just located in their individual experience or family of origin but are deeply impacted by the social systems that operate every day. Enduring those daily stressors may manifest as stress, anxiety, perfectionism, and somatic problems (in the body). My communication style My communication style is warm, kind, flexible, and direct. Feeling safe, seen, and respected is the foundation of the work.
