Getting to know Brittney Manuel

The provider is supervised by Hector Pena Hi, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and I’m here to support you through life’s ups and downs. I work with people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to go next. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or just trying to better understand yourself, I’m here to help. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative—I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can be fully yourself. We'll work together to explore what’s going on and find tools that actually work for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I want to take a moment to share what you can expect when working with me. My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Focused CBT. These tools help us explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected—and how we can gently shift patterns that no longer serve you. I specialize in working with individuals healing from childhood trauma. Together, we will create a safe and supportive space to process past experiences, understand how they may be impacting your present, and build new skills for growth and emotional well-being. A key part of our work will center on self-love and self-care. I believe healing happens when we learn to nurture ourselves, set healthy boundaries, and show up with compassion—for ourselves and others. Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and paced according to your needs. You're the expert in your life—I'm here to walk alongside you, offering guidance, tools, and encouragement as you move toward healing and wholeness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions, you can expect a calm, supportive space where you are free to be yourself—without judgment. Each session typically lasts around 50 minutes and is centered on your current needs and goals. We'll usually begin with a brief check-in about how you've been feeling since our last session. From there, we may explore recent experiences, patterns, or challenges that are coming up for you. Using tools from CBT, DBT, ACT, and Trauma-Focused CBT, we’ll work on understanding your thoughts and emotions, building coping skills, and gently processing deeper wounds—especially those connected to childhood trauma, if relevant to your journey. Depending on your comfort level, we might incorporate mindfulness exercises, journaling prompts, or skill-building activities that promote self-love, self-care, and emotional regulation. My role is to support you while also challenging unhelpful patterns in a compassionate way. You’re always welcome to guide the direction of our time together. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
