What should a new client know about working with you?

I view our sessions together as a sort of "campfire" where you can safely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, free from judgment. Sessions are offered via telehealth to accommodate busy schedules. However, I strive to create a grounded and authentic environment that makes you forget that you're looking into a screen. My approach is nurturing yet empowering, strengths-based, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and anti-oppressive.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The therapeutic process generally goes as follows: 1) 15-Minute Phone Consultation -Initial conversation to determine if we are good fit. You are invited to share to your comfort level about what brought you here. The therapist will provide clarity around logistics, general expectations, and her approach. This includes a brief verification of insurance benefits, if applicable. 2) Initial Intake Session -The floor is yours. This session welcomes you to dive freely into what’s been coming up for you, at your own pace. We will begin to explore your strengths, history, presenting challenges, and goals with safety and respect. This may also include any assessments mutually deemed relevant and beneficial to your healing process. 3) Ongoing Individual Sessions -As we continue together, it is my mission to ensure that you feel fully heard. I am mindful to only offer helpful insights, observations, and actionable tools during appropriate pauses, as they support your goals/best interest. I will offer warmth, validation, and opportunities for reflection as you express emotions/challenges.
