Hi! My name is Brooke Lands. I graduated with a master’s degree in social work from the Jacksonville State University. My undergrad degree was obtained at Jacksonville State University. I hold a Licensed Masters degree in Social Work in Alabama. I have worked in various settings as a social worker which includes child welfare, substance abuse, medical social work, and therapy. As an adolescent therapist, my ideal client population includes teenagers aged 12 to 18 who are navigating various challenges such as anxiety, depression, peer pressure, and academic stress. I focus on individuals who may be experiencing difficulties in their social relationships or facing issues related to self-esteem and identity formation. My theoretical interventions are grounded in evidence-based practices, primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help adolescents identify and reframe negative thought patterns. Additionally, I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to enhance emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. With a strong emphasis on creating a safe and supportive environment, I also apply Person-Centered Therapy principles to foster trust and encourage self-exploration among my clients. To ensure I provide the best possible care, I seek ongoing professional development through workshops and seminars focused on adolescent mental health further enhances my ability to address the unique needs of this population effectively.
