Psychotherapist
WV
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, teens, and adults. I use EMDR, somatic practices, and acceptance and commitment therapy to help clients feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to themselves. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to support you in moving toward healing and meaningful change. My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported. I tailor sessions to each person’s unique needs, often blending EMDR, somatic therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to address both the mind and body. I work at your pace, helping you build insight, process difficult experiences, and develop tools to feel more present and empowered in your daily life. I work with children, teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Many of my clients are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or deeply impacted by the world around them. I offer a supportive space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and help you reconnect with your inner strength, sense of safety, and clarity—at a pace that feels right for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My communication style is warm, down-to-earth, and attuned to your needs. I create a supportive space where you can feel safe being yourself—no pressure, no judgment. I’ll meet you with compassion, curiosity, and honesty, and together we’ll explore your experiences in a way that feels both grounding and empowering. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a news anchor and reporter. I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories, but I found myself wanting to offer comfort and support rather than hold a microphone at some of their hardest moments. Helping others has always been at the heart of what I do, and I realized I could make a deeper impact by walking alongside people in their healing instead of just telling their stories. That calling is what led me to the world of therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I help clients reach their goals by first creating a shared understanding of what matters most to them—whether it’s healing from trauma, managing anxiety, improving relationships, or feeling more grounded day-to-day. Together, we set clear, meaningful goals and use evidence-based approaches like EMDR, ACT, and somatic work to make steady progress. I check in regularly to track what’s working, adjust as needed, and celebrate each step forward, no matter how small. In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and exploring what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to gather background information and better understand your experiences, patterns, and any current challenges. If time allows, we may also start exploring your triggers or talk about how the brain and body respond to stress, laying the groundwork for the healing work ahead.
