Bryan Harrison, LCSW

Bryan Harrison, LCSW

Psychotherapist
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (MSW, New York University) and Certified Life Coach specializing in life transitions, early parenthood, and existential questions of purpose, meaning, and identity. I also teach undergraduate psychology, which keeps my practice grounded in current research and neuroscience. My clinical training integrates psychodynamic, somatic, and humanistic frameworks with neuroscience-informed, mindfulness-based approaches. I work at the intersection of depth psychotherapy and practical resilience-building — helping clients understand themselves more fully while reconnecting with their motivation, direction, and sense of possibility. I maintain a private, self-pay practice designed for clients who are ready to invest seriously in their growth. If you do book an appointment with me, I will contact before our appointment for a quick 15-min chat to make sure everything lines up ahead of our first meeting. .

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with adults in their 20s–50s who are in the thick of something hard — a major life transition, a loss of direction, the disorienting stretch of early parenthood, or that quiet feeling that the life you're living no longer fits who you're becoming. My style is warm but direct, neuroscience-informed but deeply human. I'm not a cheerleader — I'm someone who will sit with you in the complexity and challenge you when you're ready to move. Clients often leave sessions with something they hadn't been able to name before. I draw from psychodynamic, existential, and somatic traditions and bring genuine curiosity to every person I work with. I'm a self-pay practice at $225/session — which means our work is guided entirely by what matters to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start by slowing down — understanding what brought you here, what you've tried, and what you're hoping to reclaim or build. Early sessions are exploratory; the most important material often surfaces once there's enough trust and space for it. From there, we work on multiple levels: the patterns shaping your inner life, the meaning you're trying to find or restore, and what your nervous system is carrying that your mind hasn't fully processed. For new and early parents, this often includes the identity shifts and emotional weight that come with that profound life change. Neuroscience informs how we approach the body and stress — understanding why you respond the way you do is often the first step toward changing it. Somatic awareness and mindfulness run throughout, building real resilience and reconnecting you with your motivation and sense of direction. Most clients come weekly and begin to feel clearer and more purposeful within a few months.
