What should a new client know about working with you?

Mindfulness-based therapy is a therapeutic approach that involves practicing mindfulness meditation and incorporating mindfulness techniques into daily life. This form of therapy is advantageous for a wide range of clients grappling with various mental health conditions, including stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and many others. Moreover, it benefits individuals seeking personal growth, self-discovery, and overall well-being enhancement. Furthermore, those contending with challenges in emotion regulation or impulse control may find mindfulness-based therapy particularly productive due to its focus on developing awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of one's thoughts and feelings.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the first session with a new client, focusing on building rapport and establishing goals is essential. I introduce myself and create a welcoming environment to help the client feel comfortable. I listen attentively to clients' concerns and validate their feelings and experiences. Building rapport involves showing empathy and establishing trust, so I strive to convey genuine interest in the client's well-being. Once rapport has been established, I discuss the client's goals. This involves a collaborative process where we work together to identify what the client hopes to achieve through counseling. I encourage the client to express their desires and aspirations while offering my support and guidance. Setting realistic and attainable goals that align with the client's needs and capabilities is crucial. Overall, the first session is about laying the groundwork for a solid therapeutic relationship and setting the stage for meaningful progress.
