Getting to know Dr. Burton Krain

I have been in private practice for over 40 years, having earned my Master's and Doctorate degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology and my clinical psychology license from the State of Illinois in 1973. Throughout my extensive career, I have had the privilege of studying under some of the most significant figures in psychology in the Midwest. Feedback from clients over the years on their outcomes has allowed me to hone my skills as a diagnostician and clinician. Applying this knowledge and learning from these outcomes has increased my success rate with patients. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapies and treatments. I am not bound by the conventions of dated treatment modalities, and decades of experience and feedback have enabled me to provide targeted treatments that are most helpful in reaching desired outcomes. I use humor, realistic goals, and incremental steps to achieve satisfactory targets in therapy. I am gratified to receive feedback from patients that what we have accomplished has met their goals and allowed them to move on from the presenting issues that brought them to me. I want my patients to know they can trust my approaches and achieve better outcomes if they stay committed to the goals we set together.
