Getting to know Caitlin Freeman
Katie Freeman (she/her) is an LCSW and Registered Yoga Instructor (RYT-200). She obtained her BSW from Ohio University, spent a year in the Americorps in Florida working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness, and eventually found her home in Chicago after getting her MSW from Loyola University Chicago. Katie has worked in private practice for 9 years, both as a clinician and as a clinical supervisor. Having developed a strong desire to help more of the Chicagoland community through holistic health, Katie created Karuna Wellness in 2019. She specializes in treating trauma, and is a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDR International Association Consultant-in-Training. She constantly strives to learn more about the vast effects of trauma on our nervous system, and focuses her treatment on healing mind and body alike, through a combination of psychotherapy, gentle yoga, mindfulness, and meditation, when welcomed by a client.
