“Individual healing processes support the collective and vice versa; our personal thriving is rooted in communal thriving. Healing is one of the most creative, powerful, and fulfilling forms of activism we can engage in.” Before working with CIC, I was an equine-assisted psychotherapist—a modality where people work with horses as part of their healing process. This helped draw clients into the present moment and use mindfulness to work through trauma, anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities. I also worked at an addiction and abuse recovery center, which showed me how systemic and generational oppression can inhibit growth, providing tools to support people in integrated ways. Additionally, I work as an art teacher and am interested in how painting, drawing, and writing offer spaces for communication and expression that contribute to growth and healing. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Moody Bible Institute, which has shaped my understanding and approach to therapy. When not working, I am typically in nature or traveling. For me, healing and growth are rooted in movement, being outside, and connecting with people in environments that invite new perspectives. I support clients by continually shaping and growing myself in ways that are often messy but life-giving. I hope that as I work with people therapeutically, they feel accepted and cared for as they navigate life’s joys and obstacles, recognizing their own strength and intrinsic value. Therapeutic Approach What does it mean to thrive? While we exist as individuals, thriving involves our own healing journeys: experiencing the fullness of life, emotions, and experiences in connection with ourselves.
