Psychotherapist
NY
I work with clients who feel successful, capable, or self-aware on the outside, but internally are navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship patterns, identity questions, burnout, or a deeper sense that something in their life is shifting. Many of my clients are thoughtful, high-functioning, creative, spiritually curious, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, or cycle-breaking adults who want therapy that goes beyond surface-level coping. My style is warm, grounded, collaborative, and depth-oriented. I integrate trauma-informed therapy, relational work, parts work, somatic awareness, mindfulness, psychodynamic insight, and spiritual integration when relevant to the client. I do not believe therapy is about “fixing” you. I see it as a space to understand what has shaped you, reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been exiled or overworked, and build a more honest relationship with your inner life. I work especially well with clients navigating major transitions, complex family histories, religious or spiritual trauma, relationship stress, queer identity, grief, burnout, and the tension between who they have been and who they are becoming. Sessions are reflective, emotionally attuned, and paced with care. I aim to create a space that feels safe enough to be honest, spacious enough to be complex, and grounded enough to support real change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients should know that my approach is collaborative, warm, and nonjudgmental, but also deeply engaged. I am not a blank-slate therapist, and I am not here to simply hand you a worksheet or offer generic advice. I listen carefully for patterns, emotional truths, protective strategies, and the deeper story underneath what is happening on the surface. I work from the belief that symptoms often make sense in context. Anxiety, shutdown, perfectionism, people-pleasing, avoidance, over-functioning, or difficulty trusting others may have developed as intelligent ways to survive or belong. In our work, we can explore those patterns with compassion while also making room for new choices. You do not have to arrive with everything figured out. Some clients come in with a clear goal; others come in with a feeling that something is no longer working. Both are welcome. My role is to help create a steady, reflective space where you can slow down, tell the truth, understand yourself more deeply, and begin relating to your life with more clarity, agency, and self-trust.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first sessions are focused on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and building a sense of emotional safety and direction. We will talk about your current concerns, relevant history, relationships, coping patterns, identities, strengths, and what you hope might change through our work together. From there, therapy usually becomes a balance of present-moment support and deeper exploration. We may work with current stressors, relationship dynamics, trauma patterns, grief, identity questions, family-of-origin material, parts of self, body-based signals, dreams, intuition, or spiritual themes if they are meaningful to you. I tend to pay attention not only to what you are saying, but also to what your nervous system, emotions, and protective strategies may be communicating. I do not use a rigid one-size-fits-all protocol. The process is tailored to your needs, pace, and goals. Some sessions may feel practical and clarifying; others may be more emotional, reflective, or integrative. Over time, the goal is to help you understand yourself more honestly, soften patterns that no longer serve you, strengthen your capacity to feel and choose, and move toward a life that feels more aligned.
