Getting to know Camille Bien

Hello- I am passionate about providing a safe therapeutic relationship for teens, adults, and couples. Together, we explore the roots of pain or discomfort in a supportive space. Our sessions include acquiring new tools to help you grow into a more authentic self. My training in EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, and ACT provides me with alternative tools to traditional talk therapy. As a Native and Mexican therapist, I am especially committed to working with my BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. I hold a Master's of Art in Psychology from Antioch University and a Bachelor's degree from Art Center College of Design, which inform my holistic, creative, and compassionate approach. I am certified in Brainspotting, have a certificate in EMDR and T-CBT (Trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and am working toward becoming a certified Somatic Therapist. I also have training in Acceptance Commitment therapy (ACT), which is similar to CBT. I look forward to hearing from you and exploring how we can work together for a free 15 minute Zoom consultation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic style is collaborative and compassionate rooted in creating a safe and supportive relationship where you feel truly seen and understood. I believe that healing begins by establishing a trusting connection, and I'm passionate about fostering that space for every individual, couple, and teen I work with. You can expect our time together to be focused on equipping you with practical tools and strategies. We'll work on understanding why certain feelings become overwhelming, increasing your communication skills, and developing a stronger sense of self. My goal is for you to gain a deeper understanding of your experiences and to feel empowered to navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and authenticity. As a cisgender bisexual female Native Mexican therapist, I also bring a culturally informed and affirming perspective, with a particular commitment to supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. I recognize the unique challenges and strengths within these communities, and our work will honor your full identity.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our sessions are an active partnership. We start each session with a mindfulness exercise before we engage in meaningful conversation, my approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Drawing from my background in EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we will explore the roots of your pain and discomfort not just through your thoughts, but also by connecting to your body's wisdom and present moment experiences. This means we might use techniques that help you process past trauma without needing to re-live it, or learn to notice and respond differently to overwhelming feelings as they arise in your body. My approach is holistic I also incorporate traditional diagnostic assessments and diagnose to track our progress.
