What should a new client know about working with you?

DISCLAIMER: We are not able to accept Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time. My path to becoming a therapist began when life did what it usually does, and I found myself at a crossroads deciding between a new dream and an old dream. This struggle led me to back to that old dream, one dedicated to helping people, and my commitment to doing this as a therapist. In my practice, I consider it an honor to bear witness to the struggles and breakthroughs of my patients, and be able to provide them with support throughout these experiences. I bring intention, care, and respect, along with a healthy dose of pop culture knowledge, to each session as we achieve healing goals together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe each person knows themself better than anyone else, and therefore already possesses the knowledge and strength needed to make the changes they desire. This belief helps me in my role as a collaborator in your therapeutic journey: someone to witness the good, bad, and ugly, and provide support through all of them. In our time together, you can expect a warm, friendly, and supportive environment, one that is tailored to you and comes with therapeutic homework so you can practice the things you want to improve on outside the therapy room. My style is direct and change-oriented, using an integrative approach relying mostly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you explore how your environments, personality, community, and the interactions with them influence thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
