My name is Camilo Avila, I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Texas with over 7 years of experience. We all love a good underdog story! Why though? Because we are relating to those low points in our lives where we were the "underdog" and to see them overcoming their struggles and challenges gives us hope and inspiration! I love working with people who are ready to make a positive change in their lives! My greatest therapeutical strengths are genuinely connecting with my clients, active listening, patience, being non-judgmental, and simply caring for my clients. The best counselors also go to counseling, true story. Believe it or not, not all counselors are the same! We all have different talents and abilities as well as areas of strength. I pride myself in being a "natural" caring counselor that always has hope in his heart and a positive attitude! Don't you hate it when you go into a place of business, and you feel like you're just a transaction to them? I know I do! There are two main objectives for our first session. The most important is for you to feel comfortable and listened to. My job is to create a safe, welcoming space for you! The second objective is to identify the best course of action to help you through your circumstance(s). I am structured yet flexible, please know that there are no deadlines when it comes to healing and growth!
