What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients and their struggles. Therapy is your space to feel valued, heard, and to find your worth. I'm dedicated to empowering my clients by fostering self-discovery and resilience, guiding you to overcome life's challenge. Learn how to train your brain to reduce fear-based thinking and move forward. It's a start, being able to recognize what makes you happy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our early sessions, I focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. This includes discussing your current concerns, personal history, stressors, relationships, and any symptoms you may be experiencing. I may ask questions about your mood, thoughts, behaviors, sleep, relationships, and past experiences. This process helps me develop a comprehensive understanding of you and allows us to clarify goals for treatment. As part of this assessment phase, I may use clinical interviews, standardized questionnaires, and ongoing observation to better understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Diagnosis, when applicable, is not a label but a clinical tool used to guide treatment, ensure appropriate care, and help us identify the most effective therapeutic approaches. Diagnoses may evolve over time as we gain more insight. Once we have a clearer understanding of your needs and goals, sessions typically focus on talk therapy. This involves exploring thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences in a safe, nonjudgmental space. We may work on identifying patterns that contribute to distress, developing coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, strengthening boundaries, and building insight and self-awareness. I integrate evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also adapting therapy to fit your personality, values, and preferences. Sessions may include reflection, skill-building, problem-solving, and processing difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable for you.
