Candace Southall, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Greetings, I'm Dr. Candace Southall, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with experience working with adolescents and adults. In 2009, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. I completed my Master's degree in Counseling from Liberty University in 2014 and my PhD in Psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2020. Life can be a rollercoaster ride and there are times when we experience tough moments or frustration. Managing those situations and emotions can be challenging. In life we are taught how to do many tasks and skills but when was the last time someone taught you how to deal with your emotions? My goal is to help you learn how to identify those emotions, learn how to cope, and work through your problems to build your emotional toolbox. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to who will truly listen without judgment and offer support. That is where I am able to assist. I am able to provide either faith-based or secular counseling. I specialize in anxiety, depression, sports performance, and relationship issues, but my counseling focus also includes grief, anger management, career counseling, spirituality, self-esteem, parenting, and family conflict. I work with individuals to provide a space for growth and change, alleviate distress, and offer healing and hope. The types of therapy I provide include Christian Counseling, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Culturally Sensitive Therapy, Marital Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Relational Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Finding the right therapist is an important decision. I encourage you to reach out so that we can make decisions together regarding your specific needs and treatment goals. I look forward to working with you.
