Getting to know Candace Wheeler

If you’ve been carrying a lot on your own — managing stress, meeting expectations, caring for others, and still feeling like something isn’t quite settled inside — you’re not alone. Candace works with adults and young people navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the pressures that often come with balancing multiple roles. She has a particular interest in supporting women facing burnout, relationship strain, identity shifts, and the emotional weight of high expectations. Her style is calm, grounded, and attentive. Clients often seek her out when they want a space to slow down, gain clarity, and reconnect with themselves while also building practical tools to manage daily stress.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, you can expect a steady, supportive presence and a space where your experiences are met with curiosity and care. I value creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust and authenticity. At the same time, our work will have direction. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be contributing to stress or self-doubt and identify strategies that help you feel more balanced and confident. My goal is for you to leave sessions not only feeling heard, but also equipped with tools you can use outside of therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our early sessions, we’ll clarify what’s bringing you in, what feels most pressing, and what meaningful change would look like for you. I take time to understand your strengths, challenges, and the broader context of your life. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to help you: Manage anxiety and stress more effectively Shift unhelpful thought patterns Build emotional resilience Develop greater self-compassion Create healthier boundaries I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency, and we adjust as progress unfolds.
