I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas State University and my Master's in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. I have worked in school-based mental health since 2007, serving students in grades K-12 and their families. My previous work experience includes crisis intervention in hospitals and with the military, individual and family counseling for clients involved with CPS, and working with adolescents and their families in residential settings. I love working with adolescents and their communities of systems, whether family, school, or peers. Over the last several years, I have expanded my work to serve young adults and adult clients dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, women's issues, and substance use. Individuals and families will feel empowered to increase communication, understanding, and empathy and grow healthier relationships. Building trusting relationships is a core foundation for any change we hope to see within ourselves and others. This belief informs my approach to therapy. I think therapy should be relational, and meeting each client where they are on their journey is essential. Every client has their own unique situation and challenges, as well as their own strengths. My hope and goal is that together we create a path for healing. To me, Kairos signifies our readiness for that healing journey.
