Getting to know Carelis Costello
Healing is not a destination but a journey. Allow your journey to be a healthy experience for you. Many of those I had the pleasure of working with had life-changing events that ultimately affected their functionality and well-being, all amid their tribulations. As an effective psychotherapist, I take the most pride in empowering individuals to find their way on a healing journey.
From the start of my counseling journey, I have practiced in settings involving children, adolescents, and adults, working closely with various diagnoses. I specialize in Anxiety and Depression, in addition to Couples Counseling, Career Planning, Family Issues, and Behavioral Disorders. The combination of over 10 years of experience and knowledge has helped me work with individuals from all walks of life. As a therapist and former Doctoral student, I am constantly learning and furthering my expertise in psychology by participating in additional training and advocating for Mental Health on social media platforms.
I currently provide telehealth services in English and Spanish as a licensed psychotherapist in Florida. I facilitated a career change in 2017 from earning a Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies to graduating with a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from NOVA Southeastern University. I was also a prior Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student at Carlos Albizu University in 2020. I utilize interventions such as but limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
