Getting to know Carlos Mendez

Hi! I am Carlos, and I would like to start by saying welcome! Welcome to a space where you can be yourself and find comfort in knowing that you are not alone. This decision you made for yourself to seek to further understand what is going on in your life is important. In this process, it is about you being the expert in your life. It is important for me to provide you a space where you feel respected, listened to, and treated with compassion. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I am a proud graduate of the University of South Florida (Bachelor's Degree) and Troy University, where I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I am also currently working on my Ph.D. in couple and family therapy from NSU! I have worked with a range of diverse populations and a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, adjustment to major life transitions, PTSD, mood disorders, personality disorders, acculturation, and more! I have experience working with both adults and children, including veterans, adults in community-supported living, youth and their families, and college students. My therapy style is non-judgmental, strengths-based, narrative, with a touch of humor and playfulness. This space is yours to co-create with me to help you become the best version of yourself.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
