Hello and welcome! My name is Carlton Pridgen, and I'm a licensed professional counselor with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have six years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. I've had the privilege of helping individuals address a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, ADHD, and behavioral concerns. Counseling is a deeply personal journey, and I approach each session with a person-centered mindset-tailoring my methods to meet your needs and goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Mr. Pridgen supported our entire family—my husband, our two sons (ages 5 and 7), and me—through a difficult season. He offered personalized, thoughtful care to each of us. With our oldest son, he addressed the emotional impact of COVID and separation anxiety using practical tools and a calm, steady presence. For our younger son, who was experiencing early signs of depression, Mr. Pridgen showed great empathy and patience, helping him build emotional strength and trust. He also worked with my husband and me on communication and relationship struggles, providing honest, useful feedback in a compassionate way. Mr. Pridgen is a rare blend of warmth, professionalism, and deep insight. His realistic, efficient, and kind approach helped our family heal and grow together.
Mr. Pridgen helped my 3 boys through an extremely difficult and traumatic time in their lives. He continues to be available as needed and is usually able to see them very quickly after reaching out for a need.
Carlton is amazing! I will recommend him every time. He helped my kiddos through some very bad anxiety one stemming from separation anxiety and the other from the effects of COVID. He is so passionate about his work and cares about the well being of his clients.
