Getting to know Carly Murillo

You may look like you’re holding everything together—but inside, you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and disconnected from yourself. You love your family, yet you find yourself snapping at your kids, feeling resentful toward your partner, or wondering where you went after becoming a mother. The mental load never seems to stop, and some days it feels like you’re just surviving. I specialize in helping overwhelmed mothers process unresolved trauma, navigate identity loss, and work through resentment that can surface in marriage after kids. Together, we explore how past experiences may still be shaping your reactions, relationships, and parenting today. Therapy also focuses on understanding your nervous system so you can reduce emotional overwhelm, respond more calmly, and feel more grounded in daily life. Whether you’re adjusting to motherhood, feeling lost in your current season of life, or struggling with relationship changes after kids, therapy offers a space where you don’t have to carry it alone. My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move through motherhood with more clarity, calm, and confidence. I’m Carly, founder of Resilient Bloom Therapy, with over 15 years of experience supporting women through trauma recovery and life transitions. As a working mom, I understand firsthand the invisible mental load and emotional strain many mothers carry. My approach is warm, compassionate, and practical—helping you not only understand what you’re experiencing, but create meaningful, lasting change. You deserve support, healing, and space to feel like yourself again.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your pace and your story. Many of the women I work with are used to being the strong one, holding everything together for everyone else. In our work, you don’t have to perform, justify your feelings, or carry it all alone—you can simply be human. I blend compassion with practical strategies. I help you make sense of patterns, understand why you react the way you do, and develop tools that reduce overwhelm, manage emotional reactivity, and create meaningful change in your daily life. Together, we connect the dots between past experiences and present challenges—especially how trauma and identity shifts after motherhood can impact parenting, marriage, and your sense of self. Trauma-informed care is at the heart of my work. I recognize how past experiences—where you may have felt unsafe, unseen, or unsupported—can affect your nervous system, emotions, and relationships today. Trauma can show up as anxiety, emotional outbursts, perfectionism, resentment, or feeling disconnected from yourself. Healing isn’t about “moving on” quickly—it’s about helping your nervous system feel safe enough to release what it has been holding and reclaim your calm, confidence, and sense of self.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is focused on getting to know you. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope will feel different in your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. I will guide the conversation and meet you where you are. We may explore: • What has been feeling overwhelming or difficult lately • Any past experiences that may still be affecting you • Your current stressors, relationships, and emotional patterns • Your goals for therapy and what you want support with Ongoing sessions are typically 55–60 minutes and move at a pace that feels right for you. Each session is guided by what feels most important or present in your life that week. Sometimes you may come in with something specific you want to talk about. Other times, you may just notice a feeling or pattern that you want to understand better. Both are equally valuable. In sessions, you can expect a balance of: Emotional support and validation You will have space to openly share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Many clients describe therapy as the first place they feel fully heard and understood. Insight and deeper understanding I will help you recognize patterns, emotional triggers, and connections between past and present experiences. Understanding “why” you feel the way you do can be incredibly relieving and empowering. Practical tools and strategies You will learn tools to help regulate your nervous system, manage overwhelm, set boundaries, and respond to situations in ways that feel more aligned with who you are. Gentle guidance and collaboration We work together as a team. I will offer observations, reflections, and guidance, but you are always in control of your pace and what you choose to explore. Healing does not happen all at once. It happens gradually, through consistent support, insight, and emotional safety.
