Hello, I'm Carmen. Life is uniquely experienced by each individual, and no two experiences are ever the same, even if they arise from the same events. I approach each person with a focus on building up strengths to overcome challenges. It's very important to be willing to give what is necessary to the counseling process in order to make gains, and no small gain is insignificant. Progress is progress. I am here to meet you where you are and walk with you toward where you want to be in life. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Webster University in San Antonio, TX, and bring 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Throughout my career, I have worked with a variety of populations, including individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, chronic and severe mental illness, and those in crisis. I have also focused on working with youth and families, building parenting skills, and providing trauma-informed care using person-centered thinking. I am fluent in Spanish and have extensive experience working with youth of Spanish-speaking parents, as well as adults who only speak Spanish. Additionally, I have worked with children and youth, and have done relationship work with adults. My approach is person-centered and eclectic, tailoring techniques to fit the individual needs of each client. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, life transitions, stress, trauma, or grief, I am here to support you. I also specialize in children's mental and behavioral health, adolescent and teen mental and behavioral health, and learning disorders. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard and understood. Let's work together to navigate the challenges you're facing and move towards a more fulfilling life.
