Carmen Simon, LMFT

Carmen Simon, LMFT

Psychotherapist
5900 Memorial Dr, 218, Houston, TX
I believe that the vulnerable edge is also where emotional growth begins to flourish. As a therapist, I have the honor of helping clients move from “survive” mode to “thrive” mode. I believe that clients are the experts of their own experience. My role comes from proving safety and affirmation so that my clients feel comfortable taking their first steps toward being heard. I have a relaxed and flexible approach to therapy. While I work with several different modalities, I have found that following lend well to my style of practice: Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, Somatic Based Therapy, Liberation Psychology, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. At the core of all successful therapeutic relationships is trust. I am proud to say that I have had experience building trusting relationships with a diverse array of clients of all ages and demographics, with special emphasis on working with 2SLGBTQIA+ adults, youth and couples. I also like to incorporate the lived experience of clients into the work, as I believe healing is an ongoing, and ever evolving process that happens in, and outside, of the therapeutic frame.
