Hi there! I'm Carmen.
Do you feel alone and misunderstood? Are you struggling in your relationships with others or yourself? Is something from your past making it hard to live a life with peace?
I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for children, adolescents, and adults to be their unfiltered selves. With a Master’s in Mental Health Social Work from the University of South Florida, I use compassion and personalize sessions to include evidence-based techniques that support self-discovery and growth. I help individuals learn how to effectively communicate their needs, practice self-love, and challenge limiting and negative beliefs. I also assist people in healing from traumatic experiences that have shaped how they view the world and themselves so they can live a life filled with peace, gratitude, and hope.
Whether you are struggling with limiting beliefs, anxiety, depression, trauma, or challenges in your relationships, I am here to help. I am also an LGBTQ+ ally. Taking the first step to reach out for help can be overwhelming and intimidating, and I am proud of you for coming this far! Know that I am here to walk the rest of the way with you on your journey.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I will help you learn to let go of maladaptive habits and discover positive ways to express emotions and cope with stress. We will work together to create a life that is filled with more joy, love, and gratitude.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Carmen is really great. She’s wonderful when it comes to validating how I feel, she’s really great at listening to everything I have to say without making me feel weird or awkward. She makes a safe space for me to be my authentic self and give me encouragement and support to help me work through my problems. While I always feel anxious about my appointments she makes the process a lot less scary and manageable.

She really is all of the above and I am sad I can only pick two. She creates a safe space for vulnerability and personal growth giving me time to process emotions and asking critical questions that empower me through self reflection. These qualities alone encourage me to be honest and open about what I am going through and that can be very difficult so I really appreciate her humor, warmth, and authenticity. I suppose I would not consider her to be "solution oriented" but for me personally that is a positive thing since I feel supported and challenged but not forced into productivity within my own personal healing journey. All around she is probably the best therapist I have ever spoken with and I would highly recommend her.
