Dr. Carol Bunch, PhD

Psychotherapist
VA
Who do you turn to when life hurts? What do you do when problems arise? Where do you go when the stigma of traditional counseling feels like a barrier? I am here to support you through both online and traditional counseling. I work with individuals, couples, and families, drawing on my experience in private practice since September 1999. I hold a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s in Counselor Education from North Carolina Central University, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina. I believe that each of us has the ability to heal our hurts through forgiveness and the mending of our broken hearts. Some of the issues I address include substance abuse, depression, forgiveness, anger, relationship challenges, sexual assault, domestic violence, PTSD, and career decisions. My goal is to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can begin.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that God has called me to heal the broken hearts so that we can live again. I believe that there is value in each of you, and sometimes we can't see our self-worth because of our pain.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
