Psychotherapist

Sometimes life just overwhelms you, and this is one of those times. Are you tired, frustrated, even confused about how to proceed? I can assist you in working your way through the issue and into creating a life you love. Birth, death, marriage, divorce, empty nest, career problems-these are all life cycle events. When one or more occur, it can throw everything else in your life off-kilter. Avoiding the issue hasn't helped, and you may not know exactly how to address it. Dealing with sadness, anxiety, anger, and/or fear is challenging on your own. I will be here for you-listening, caring, maybe challenging some of your thoughts or beliefs, but always in your court. I work with adults, both individually and as couples, and I have experience with the LGBTQ+ community. My name is Carol Lazarus. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 25 years of experience helping clients overcome life cycle issues. I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. With experience in women's issues, family substance abuse, mood disorders, low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, communication, and rebuilding what has been broken, I would love the opportunity to see if I am the therapist who can assist you. I am a mom, grandmother, dog lover, a very good friend, and I may have worked my way through some of the same issues that are challenging you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Your first session will be an opportunity for us to meet and see if we are a good fit.I will ask why you are seeking therapy at this time and ask about the results you would like to see from your participation.I will ask a lot of questions and make sure you have an opportunity to ask me some questions as well. These first sessions are information gathering.I am committed to creating a safe space for you to address your concerns and promise to be kind and considerate.I like to work in a partnership with my clients, meaning we talk about what you want to talk about when you want to do it.In the meantime, I will share some skills that you can use to ease your symptoms and probably recommend some reading material as well.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
