Carole Brookshire MFT #115869, SUDCC #9298 I am currently licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and a Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from California State University, Northridge. Therapy provides a safe space to bring about change in the areas where you want to grow by gaining a better understanding of yourself. Let's work together to discover what will help you reach your goals. My approach I practice using Solution Focused, Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Collaborative, Narrative, Mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused therapies. My focus I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, negative communication patterns, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I provide coping skills to reduce symptoms and help process emotions. My communication style As your therapist, I will actively listen and empathize with integrity and discretion. What we discuss in therapy is kept confidential. The only exceptions to confidentiality are if you disclose child or elder abuse or if you intend to harm yourself or others. My journey to therapy I have always had a desire to help people with their problems and am a good listener. I am fascinated by how our emotions influence our thoughts and behavior. It is rewarding to witness a client's journey through therapy as they improve and feel better through connection. My goals for you To stay focused, we will discuss and collaborate on your personal goals for therapy and prioritize what is most important for you to work on in each session. My first session with you In our first session, we will establish rapport and begin discussing the reason you are seeking therapy. From there, we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I also encourage your feedback so we can ensure our sessions are beneficial and that you get to talk about what matters most to you.
