Getting to know Carolina Baldner

I am a licensed mental health counselor with several years of experience in private practice. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling and Applied Psychology from Florida International University, as well as bachelor's degrees from York University and Universidad de Buenos Aires. I have been working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, accompanying my clients in their processes toward achieving higher levels of well-being and overall health. I specialize in CBT, solution-focused therapy, and talk therapy, and I apply skills of psychodrama and play therapy with my youngest clients. I have helped people with anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, acculturation issues, grief, academic performance, self-image, and LGBTQ advocacy. I am a mother of two grown women, have a rescue dog and a cat, and practice self-care by walking outdoors every day while listening to music and enjoying nature. I am also working on a couple of writing projects that I hope to share with you in the near future. If you'd like to get more information, please reach out! I hope we can work together toward achieving your wellness goals!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our sessions will be collaborative and engaging. Our main goal will be to identify your personal goals while designing a treatment plan that will aim at achieving them. Our therapeutic alliance is one of my main focuses as it is essential to your growth and success in therapy. After a few sessions I hope you will have gained tools and coping skills to apply on your own in your journey toward self actualización.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I combine elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), talk therapy, solution focus, role playing and art therapy. I develop sessions based on each client’s particular needs and personality as I believe that customizing treatment is beneficial to the overall therapeutic process.

Carolina is the best!! She makes the therapy session a comfortable place for you to talk about anything & everything, making you feel heard, seen & understood. Really professional & dedicated to what she does
From our very first session, Carolina exuded a sense of warmth and genuine care that immediately put me at ease. Her ability to create a safe and nonjudgmental space allowed me to open up and explore my thoughts and feelings in ways I never thought possible. Throughout our sessions, I felt truly heard and understood, which is a testament to Carolina's exceptional listening skills and deep empathy. What sets Carolina apart is her unwavering commitment to her clients' growth and healing. Her genuine investment in my progress was evident, and she consistently went above and beyond to provide support outside of our scheduled sessions. Whether through insightful emails or recommended reading materials, Carolina's dedication to my well-being was truly remarkable.
I had such a great experience in my sessions with Carolina. I am usually skeptical when speaking to therapists for the first time, but Carolina was extremely warm and welcoming from the start which allowed me to really open up. She was able to help diagnose the core issues I came in with and gave me great techniques to help me cope with them. She's insightful, probing, and an overall wonderful person to speak with. I recommend her services to anyone who feels they need to be heard!
