Getting to know Carolina Romero

Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility. Are you feeling overwhelmed by work or your relationships? Is stress and anxiety weighing you down? Are you looking to overcome depression or build up your self-esteem? Individual therapy can be a great place to begin your healing journey. Couples therapy and marriage counseling can also help you and your partner feel more heard and create a safe space to work on your relationship for a better future. I offer services in both English and Spanish, so if you’re wondering how therapy might benefit you, consider booking a consultation with me today to see how I can support you in meeting your goals. We’ll collaborate to craft a personalized plan to overcome overwhelm, feeling stuck, or anxiety. I’m dedicated to empowering you with the tools to unlock your innate solutions. For couples, I offer a supportive space to rebuild trust, reduce stress and misunderstandings, nurture deeper connections, and provide you with the skills for a richer relationship. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria, which informs my compassionate and effective approach to therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

**To secure the appointment time you have requested through zocdoc, our team will reach out to you directly, please confirm with us and complete all of our onboarding paperwork to ensure a smooth initial appointment** I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas, where I have lived for almost 16 years. I was born and raised in the beautiful country of Venezuela, where I watched my mother pursue her own career in counseling. I have known from a young age that my purpose in this life was to serve others. This calling along with my general passion and curiosity for people led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Psychology from St. Edward’s University before obtaining my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. At Destination Therapy, I offer individual therapy and couples counseling both in person and online to best fit my client’s needs. I provide services in both English and Spanish to my clients. My goal is to support individuals and couples who are struggling with feeling stuck in some aspect of their lives. I have worked with individuals who have struggled with depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, boundaries and self-esteem. I also have experience with couples who are interested in improving their relationship as a whole. As a Latina therapist, I am committed to highlighting the beauty of our culture while dismantling and destigmatizing long-standing beliefs surrounding mental health and seeking professional support. This commitment does not end with the Latine community – it spans through my work with individuals/couples who come from different backgrounds and identities as well.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you’re ready, book an intake appointment for us to begin your therapy journey. I offer online telehealth appointments through a secure platform with flexible availability. Once you book your intake through zocdoc, a member of the Destination Therapy team will reach out to you directly to ensure you have all of the intake paperwork completed ahead of time, then your appointment will be confirmed. That information will help guide the initial appointment and help me better understand the support you are looking for. During the intake appointment, I will assess your needs and identify goals to collaboratively create a treatment plan that is unique to you. IMPORTANT: Like most specialty providers, Destination Therapy does not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility. Standard length individual therapy sessions with me at Destination Therapy cost $150, these sessions are 50 minutes long. Many of our clients are able to receive reimbursement from their insurance provider if they have out-of-network (OON) benefits. Let’s work together so you can move towards a place of healing.
