I want you to have the life you want for yourself. I promise to be your biggest fan and loudest cheerleader as you work to create a story that refines and transforms the trajectory of your life. As a therapist, it is my honor and privilege to start this process with you. I know how transformative good therapy can be, and you have my commitment that I'll do everything I can to support you in creating the story of your dreams.
My role is to challenge you and to help you see and express some difficult things. There might be times when you won't like me (or you) and you'll want to stop. That's how therapy works sometimes-it's a normal part of the process. We put in the effort, push through the tough parts, take breathers when we need to, and rejoice in the breakthroughs. Because on the other side of the hard work you do with me is the life you want and deserve.
Stories are kind of my thing. How we choose to tell our stories, and who we choose to share them with, is an endless source of wonder for me. I'm genuinely interested in hearing your story, whenever you're ready to share it.
Here's a little of my story. My formative years were spent living in Austin, where I developed a love of Tex-Mex food, live music, and the perfectly placed swear word. Before pursuing my Master's in Counseling at Northwestern University, I worked in Austin's high-tech startup scene, where I learned a great deal about people, purpose, and how the world works. I was lucky enough to have met and married the love of my life, and together we had one child, adopted another, and later moved to the Chicago area. I love it here but miss wearing flip flops in December.
What should a new client know about working with you?
If you're ready to work, I’m ready to hit the ground running with you. I don’t believe in spending dozens of sessions barely scratching the surface. You’re ready for change today, and not two years from now. Together, we’re going to roll up our sleeves and collaborate on how to make those changes happen.
