Getting to know Carolyn Miller

Carolyn Miller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Life Coach, and Certified Trauma Informed Professional. Her passion for mental health and trauma recovery extends beyond the therapy office into schools, courtrooms, and anywhere in her community where healing is needed. As owner and Lead Clinical Coach of The Healing Point, Carolyn offers psychotherapy services, Brainspotting Treatment, coaching sessions, and professional supervision to foster growth and create opportunities for individuals and communities to heal and move toward a healthier future. Carolyn earned her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2007. She has worked in diverse settings, including community outreach, schools, in-home care, and inpatient psychiatric facilities. Early in her career, she served on administrative boards in hospital settings, managed acute psychiatric care units, and facilitated treatment team meetings. Carolyn has since developed a busy private practice serving clients aged five to seventy-five. She specializes in treating mood and anxiety disorders, relational issues, school and work challenges, and family dynamics.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I typically can offer sessions quickly and I am available in between appointments if needed.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with an intake and build a trusting relationship before diving into the important work of healing your trauma from the inside out.
