“What we really like about Carolyne is that she is helping us talk to each other and not AT each other during therapy and outside therapy. She listens to us and does not judge us for things we are talking about. She wanted us to clearly state our goals of therapy, and is giving us direct steps to meet these goals. It is our second session with her, and we are feeling like she is a GREAT fit for us!”

Getting to know Carolyne Cole

Welcome! I am Carolyne Cole, a marriage and family counselor specializing in marriage and family therapy. I also work with teens, young adults, and seniors who are bravely taking steps toward bringing positive change into their lives. My approach to therapy is eclectic, incorporating principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you challenge unhelpful distortions about yourself and provides personal coping strategies to support problem-solving in your life. Narrative Therapy helps you identify your values and skills so you can use them to confront current and future challenges. I also offer spiritual counseling if you are seeking to explore or solidify your spiritual beliefs. Additionally, I am a Certified Grief Therapist. I began my calling in mental health following my retirement from a 35-year career in education. I hold a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Sarasota. I am also a published author and hold a master's degree in American Studies, along with the distinguished National Board Certification in English Education. I have taught in public and private schools, community colleges, and universities in both Florida and Eastern Europe. These experiences have broadened my understanding and make it easier for me to relate to a variety of people and cultures, which helps me connect with you. I am a native Floridian, married for 44 years to a former University of South Florida professor, so I understand what it means to live life and overcome challenges in the Sunshine State. My heart is to support you wherever you are on your journey, ease your worries about the future, and provide practical tools to heal. I know the first step toward change is often the most difficult, but I encourage you to take a step of faith and give me a call.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
