Psychotherapist
IL
Hi there, I'm Carrie! Carrie Colvin, LCPC, CRSS. I bring a blend of education, mindfulness, and authentic connection to guide clients on their unique journeys toward growth, resilience, and self-discovery. Supporting others in finding their strength and purpose drives everything I do. I earned my Master's in Counseling from The Chicago School, which laid the foundation for my trauma-informed and compassionate approach. My approach My therapy is trauma-informed, rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to empowering clients to achieve meaningful change. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop mindfulness skills and foster psychological flexibility, aligning actions with values. Drawing from the Humanistic-Existential approach, I guide clients in exploring personal experiences to uncover potential while addressing universal human conditions like isolation, meaning, and freedom. Additionally, my use of Client-Centered Therapy (CCT) emphasizes genuine empathy and understanding, creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard. Together, these approaches help clients navigate challenges and build a life of authenticity and purpose. My focus I work with clients across the lifespan, believing every life chapter has unique challenges and growth opportunities. As a Doula and birth/body feeding educator, I am passionate about supporting parents and soon-to-be parents through pregnancy, grief and loss, and parental concerns. I also have extensive experience helping individuals manage Anxiety, Depression, PTSD/trauma, self-harm/suicidal ideation, adjustment disorders, and marital or family dynamic issues. My goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive space for all clients as they work toward healing and empowerment. My communication style I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel truly seen and understood.
