Carrie Gordon, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am passionate about helping my clients establish a greater sense of self so that they can thrive in their relationships and their lives. My approach I take an eclectic, client-centered approach to treatment. Some of my favorite modalities include Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, CBT, and DBT. My focus I enjoy working with clients who struggle with complex trauma and insecure attachment patterns. Clients often come to me dealing with people-pleasing, perfectionism, social anxiety, fear of confrontation, self-doubt, narcissistic abuse, and relationship issues. I am also experienced in working with generalized anxiety, depression, OCD, grief/loss, addiction, and eating disorders. My communication style Three words I would use to describe my style are compassionate, curious, and strategic. My journey to mental healthcare I have always known I wanted to be in a helping profession. I began studying psychology in my early 20s when I wanted to make sense of my own story. As a trauma survivor, I want to help inspire hope in others who are wrestling with their own stories. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University. My goals for you The client is the expert on their story, and together, we collaboratively create a healing plan. My first session with you We will spend time addressing your goals for therapy, past experiences in therapy, and any particular concerns. It is understandable that clients often start therapy from a place of frustration, desperation, or crisis. I am careful to prioritize what is most needed at the outset of therapy, keeping your end game in mind.
