Psychotherapist
HI
Hi there, I'm Carrie! It's a pleasure to meet you! I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2013, holding a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii. I have a passion for working with individuals and families experiencing mental health concerns, substance abuse, and significant life changes such as menopause, burnout, and end-of-life issues. Together, we will create a safe space to talk about what matters most to you. Whatever that is, we will figure it out! The key to your success will be the partnership we create, as I believe deeply in your potential to heal from within. My approach My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-centered. I consider myself a somatic practitioner who will guide you in practices that connect to the wisdom within your body, helping build insight and connection to emotions, situations, and life experiences that may have held you back from living the life you want. You may know this as mind-body medicine or mindfulness. I also integrate therapies such as dialectical and cognitive behavioral skills, along with lifestyle medicine coaching. My focus I work with adults of any gender, including non-binary individuals, and people of all ethnicities. I have a strong background in treating serious mental illnesses such as major depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse issues. My communication style I am a thoughtful and sensitive communicator who facilitates a space where you are truly heard. It is my wish to help you develop interpersonal effectiveness skills so you can get your needs met. My journey to mental healthcare I was inspired to become a therapist because of the adversity I faced and overcame in my life. As a once-struggling single mother, earning my Master's degree in Social Work provided a pathway to purpose, fulfillment, and empowerment. I hope to help you find your own pathway to live the life you want to live!
