Cary Sanders, LPCC-S

Psychotherapist
OH
It is with much admiration and respect that I engage with clients in their journey to wellness. As a therapist, I have always believed in the strength of the individual to heal. I have a depth of knowledge in how trauma impacts individuals. It is part of who we are but doesn't need to define us. It can be difficult to seek help when things seem overwhelming, and that is why I have always tried to create a warm, compassionate, and safe environment for clients so they can feel accepted wherever they might be in their journey of self-discovery and growth. I have been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 1998. I primarily help adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, and/or depression. I often use cognitive behavioral and trauma-focused therapy to help clients reach their potential. When people are supported and encouraged, they become able to find their strength and balance. They grow and change and learn to believe in their own abilities to reach their goals. Prior to private practice, much of my career was spent working with teens in the foster care system and families whose lives have been touched by adoption. I have supported individuals who have struggled with trauma (including sexual trauma), self-worth and identity questions, grief, relationship issues, and general adjustment to life's difficulties. I graduated from Kent State University with a Master of Education in Counseling.
