I enjoy working with children, adults, and families with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, family issues, behavioral issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, social and cultural concerns, and school and work problems. What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative, personalized, caring, and creative. I am a passionate ally to the LGBTQ community, for social justice, diversity, equality, and inclusion. I provide a safe, welcoming space to all free of judgment, assumptions, or "agenda." I show respect for my clients' individual preferences and needs, their boundaries, and their autonomy. I love meeting and getting to know individuals from all backgrounds and cultures, and I learn as much from my clients as they learn from me. I find great enjoyment in helping and learning about others, and sharing space for them to explore solutions, learn, heal, and unlock their full talents and potential! My goal is to put clients at ease, provide a safe space, to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship from the beginning. I want them to work at their own pace without feeling pressured. My goal is for my clients to leave therapy feeling encouraged, comforted, inspired, motivated, connected, appreciated, hopeful and confident about themselves, their relationships, and their futures.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session for a clinical counseling/therapy session is generally a comprehensive assessment to obtain information on symptoms and needs, determine appropriate level and type of care, and to determine a diagnosis and treatment plan. This can take 1-2 hours, sometimes less. Some sessions and assessments are more formal and structured than others depending on the setting and the client's individual circumstances and needs. Once the initial assessment and treatment plan are completed, therapy sessions will occur via video, audio, messaging, or live chat depending on the platforms available and used. All communication is private, confidential, secured, encrypted and HIPAA compliant. Full therapy sessions are generally 55 minutes, but this therapist is flexible and accommodating to clients' schedules and needs. Some sessions may be shorter. Session frequency is determined per client preferences, needs, and availability. Some clients meet once per week, some biweekly, and some simply schedule as they go.
