Cassandra Fisher-Groff, LICSW

Psychotherapist
NE
Hi there, I'm Cassandra! My name is Cassandra Fisher-Groff, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Omaha, NE, working with individuals statewide via telehealth. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Nebraska Omaha. I work with people across the lifespan (5-99+), especially those dealing with depression, anxiety, coping with big life changes including grief, personality disorders, and severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). I most often utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and strengths-based approach to help people identify their strengths and use those strengths to make progress and feel better. My approach varies based on each individual's unique needs in therapy. I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help people understand why they think and feel the way they do. I also incorporate a strengths-based approach and concepts from Positive Psychology to help people see their strengths and use them to live the life they want. I have experience working with people across the lifespan and am passionate about helping individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and other concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, and life changes that significantly impact their day-to-day activities. I strive to create a secure, warm, and welcoming environment in sessions where people feel safe and comfortable to talk with me about anything. I approach each session with patience, genuine interest and curiosity, and unconditional positive regard. Since I was a kid, I have always known I wanted to help people. Clinical Social Work embodies my values of social justice, positive regard for others, and the right to self-determination. What drives me as a Clinical Social Worker and Therapist is the ability to guide people to use the strengths they already have within themselves to grow and live the life they want to live.
