Getting to know Cassandra Gadouas

I began working in education in Washington State. I needed to obtain a master's degree, and became very interested in psychology. I decided to pursue a license in mental health counseling. I moved to Florida, where I currently reside. I have been in practice for over 20 years as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been in private practice for over 10 years, which has been a lot of work, but very rewarding. I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families in helping them understand themselves and each other. We work on communication, as well as managing issues related to anxiety, depression, frustration, and coping with change. My main modality is cognitive therapy, but I also use methods from DBT, Family Systems, Mindfulness, and The Gottman Method, as well as a few others, depending on the situation. I am trained in EMDR, as well as Accelerated Resolution Therapy, which are helpful for trauma as well as other difficulties. I am also certified in horticulture therapy from the University of Florida. If you like plants and nature, you may want to try some horticultural therapy.
