Psychotherapist
CA
My approach to therapy is collaborative and supportive, as you are the expert in your own life, and I see my role as more of a guiding hand in the process of growth. Together, we will explore how to make small changes and build insight that will help you feel better and improve your relationships. I utilize an integrative approach to meet clients where they're at, pulling from various modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, strength-based therapies, solution-focused therapies, and more traditional psychodynamic approaches. As a Bay Area native, I understand the unique challenges and pressures of "hustle culture" and the increasing rates of stress and burnout among professionals. I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, clinics, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. My background includes experience working with teens, adults, and those involved in the criminal justice system, as well as their families. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. Research shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important contributors to positive outcomes in therapy, so I welcome the opportunity to see if we are a good fit to work together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is laid back, conversational, and collaborative - together we will set goals, big and small, and figure out how to help you reach them. I'm a big believer in celebrating the small victories, taking baby steps, and making consistent progress. I also welcome your thoughts and feedback during the process - if something isn't feeling right or working for you, I encourage you to let me know so we can work through it together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The process of therapy can be very fluid and dynamic, and can change from person to person. The first few sessions include intake, assessment, and getting to know one another while we set goals. Subsequent sessions typically involve some sort of check in and diving deeper into a particular topic or discussing a certain skill that might benefit you outside of our sessions. Sessions come to an end when it no longer feels needed, functioning has improved, or you're simply feeling ready to take a break. I usually taper down sessions (e.g. biweekly, then monthly) and always leave the door open for clients to return at a later time.
