I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey and received my Masters in Education in Counseling from William Paterson University in August 2010. Previously an elementary school teacher with over 10 years experience, I began practicing as a counselor in 2012. I am also a graduate of The Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies, Inc. and am a certified Psychoanalyst. I really enjoy working with young adults, older adults, teachers and women struggling with life transitions, anxiety, and depression.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I enjoy working with young adults, women, people struggling with anxiety and depression and life transitions. I help those struggling with feeling overwhelmed and burdened with anxiety and self- doubt. I help the clients I work with to recognize that we all need to take care of ourselves first to be better able to help others.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Together we can explore the patterns in your behaviors and uncover what may lie underneath the surface that may be contributing to your anxiety and discontent. Looking at our past helps us to examine the present and gain insight into the difficulties we are experiencing now. Through extended self -exploration my clients come to a better understanding of their thoughts, feelings and relationships and in doing so feel relief and develop healthier ways of experiencing themselves and the world.

Healing Connections Counseling Center is in-network with BCBS and Aetna insurance plans, with the exception of any Medicare, Medicaid, EAP, Marketplace, or Carelon related plans. If you have another insurance carrier and your plan has out-of-network coverage, the office will provide you with a super bill to submit directly to your insurance plan. Since we would be considered an out of network provider with any other insurance carriers besides BCBS and Aetna, the client would be responsible for the full fee of the session, which is $180 for a 60-minute session or $150 for a 45-minute session with Cathy Lawrence. The client would submit a super bill to their insurance and receive reimbursement (if applicable to their plan) directly from their insurance company. If you need assistance with submitting out of network super bills, we can have a member of our billing department walk you through the process.
