“I went in extremely anxious and about halfway through realized I was truly enjoying the process and myself. I felt very good leaving the meeting as well. I was driving to a friend house about 1 hour after and thought about the Session the entire way and had nothing but good thoughts. Truly shocked at how much I enjoyed it and how much it seems like it will help me and my relationship.”

Getting to know Catherine Podolske

Hi there, I'm Catherine! Hello. I'm Catherine, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) passionate about helping people live the life they want through therapy. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I take a holistic approach, focusing on the whole person while exploring each individual's unique needs to promote maximum health and wellness. My approach My client-centered and humanistic approach centers on your goals and what matters most to you. I draw eclectically from polyvagal theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and internal family systems to work collaboratively with you. Together, we aim to achieve your wellness, peace, and the happiness you seek. While addressing difficult issues, I also create space to keep the process as comfortable-and dare I say even enjoyable-as possible. My focus I am trauma-informed with a specialization in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, severe stress and adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, grief and bereavement, obsessive-compulsive disorders, attachment and relationship issues, anger management, substance abuse, chronic health conditions, chronic pain, and somatization disorders. My communication style I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and accepting environment where you feel heard and appreciated. Clients often find themselves feeling more at peace and even relieved as we progress through each session and work through challenges together. My journey to mental healthcare I have experienced many ups and downs throughout my life. Losing my mother during my teen years sparked a deep interest in loss and mental health as they relate to all types of trauma. I have felt that pain personally and witnessed loved ones suffer through many struggles, which fuels my commitment to this work.
