Getting to know Catherine Smeal

I offer virtual sessions with afternoon and evening availability. I have specialized experience working with people who struggle with substance use or problem behaviors (gambling, spending, etc.), the LGBTQ+ community, those with mood and/or anxiety disorders, and neurodiverse folks. Each session will be personalized to your individual needs using approaches such as CBT, DBT, harm reduction practices, and more. I love working with marginalized clients and come from an anti-oppressive and liberation-centered approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I come from a place of complete nonjudgment. No matter what gender, race, sexual orientation, body type, or religious identity, my mission is to create a safe, inclusive, collaborative atmosphere. I will guide you along your journey to reach your happiest, healthiest self - whatever that means for you!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My aim is to work together as a team, meeting you where you are at every step of the way with an open-mind, compassion, and humor (if you're into that kind of thing!). We'll touch base on ongoing life events, connecting what's happening today to your treatment goals. It's conversational and relaxed, so feel free to wear comfy clothes, a tasty drink or snack, and your favorite blanket.
