Psychotherapist

Hello, I'm Cayla, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I understand that starting with a new therapist can be overwhelming or nerve-wracking, but I promise we will go at your pace. My approach to therapy is client-centered, focusing on your unique needs and goals. I believe in creating a safe, supportive environment where you can feel comfortable sharing and exploring your thoughts and feelings. I received my undergraduate degree from Northwest MO State University in 2004 and gained valuable experience in the field before returning to school for my graduate degree. In 2011, I earned my Master's in Social Work, and by 2014, I was fully licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. Over the course of my career, I had the wonderful opportunity to work for the same hospital association for 13 years, gaining experience in various areas of the hospital. The last six years of my employment there were spent in outpatient mental health, where I worked with clients ranging in age from 3 to 75. My specialties include helping individuals cope with depression, grief and bereavement, life transitions, OCD, PTSD, intimate and romantic relationships, stress, anxiety, family relationships, and adolescent and teen mental and behavioral health. I also have experience working with individuals and couples dealing with changes in their lives, such as marriage, divorce, parenting, pregnancy, and work-related stress. In June 2020, I transitioned to working as a school-based social worker and therapist for our local school, where I continue to support students and their families. I primarily offer short-term therapy, typically lasting 6-8 weeks with weekly sessions. This approach allows us to focus on specific issues and work towards meaningful progress in a manageable timeframe. If you feel you could benefit from short-term therapy, please reach out and let's get started together. I look forward to supporting you on your journey to better mental health.
