Getting to know Cecelia Dixie

Hello, I'm Cecelia Dixie, LCSW. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to potentially work with you on your journey towards better mental health and well-being. My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and my role is to support and guide you through that process with compassion and understanding. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. Together, we will work on identifying your strengths and building on them to overcome challenges and achieve your goals. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Georgia, where I've spent most of my life. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Human Services/Sociology from LaGrange College and went on to complete my Master of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, Columbia. With over 17 years of experience in the field of social work, I've had the privilege of working with diverse populations, from children to senior citizens, in various settings. In the early years of my career, I worked in outpatient settings such as the Department of Family and Children Services, providing individual, family, and group therapy. For the past 12 years, I've been dedicated to inpatient psychiatric settings, serving as Program and Clinical Director, where I oversaw social work and other therapeutic departments. In 2017, I established my private practice, Sage Consultant Services, offering clinical and consultation services to community agencies and Georgia probate courts. Additionally, I recently joined the part-time staff at Kennesaw State University as an instructor in the Master of Social Work program. I specialize in a range of areas including anger management, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, life transitions, psychosis/schizophrenia, spirituality, stress, and suicidal ideation/self-harming behaviors.
