Hello, I'm Chaquita Gibson. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, my journey has been driven by a passion for helping others navigate life's challenges. My background is diverse, beginning with a degree in Geology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2000, followed by a Master's degree in Education from Texas A&M University in 2006. After 11 years in education, I pursued my dream of supporting individuals on a deeper level, earning my Master of Social Work in 2013 and Doctor of Social Work in 2021. I have specialized training in EMDR, Coaching, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Domestic Violence. My experience spans working with acute and chronic mental illness and substance abuse in hospital settings, where I've conducted group, family, and individual therapy. I also have extensive experience in crisis intervention. My therapeutic philosophy centers on the belief that through perseverance, anything can be accomplished. I am here to support you in persevering through life's challenges, whether you're dealing with anger management, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief, multicultural and diversity issues, stress, or trauma. I offer both in-person and SonderMind Video Telehealth sessions to accommodate your needs.
