Hi there, I'm Charity! I am Charity Gordon, a licensed professional counselor with a Master’s in Counseling from the University of Mississippi. I love to form a unique relationship with each of my clients, centered around their individual needs and strengths. I focus on teens, adults, and seniors—offering both individual and couples counseling. My approach We seek counseling because we have been in pain—usually for a while. After trying to ignore or numb the pain, some of us may say to ourselves, “This is not working. I need help,” which are both brave and scary statements to make. My desire is to provide a safe place for people to explore their pain and find their own unique strengths and solutions for healing. I am client-centered and use cognitive-behavioral therapy and EMDR for clients with trauma backgrounds. My focus Most of my clients are managing anxious and/or depressive symptoms. I like to work with each client from where they are. My communication style Most people do not have a chance to interact with someone who gives them unconditional positive regard. My hope is to provide this for each of my clients. My journey to mental healthcare A therapist kind of saved my life when I was young. I can appreciate the value of a good counselor, so I want to provide that service to others as a way to give meaning to my life. My goals for you I let my clients lead the way in setting their goals because only they know what goals they are actually ready and willing to set and work toward.
